Glass Etching 101 December 4, 2010

So my Cricut gets some pretty good use.    Here is a Glass etching project I just completed.

Start with cutting out the words.  I chose to do these in Plantin schoolbook font

Cut out each word and then transfer unto transfer tape so the sticker side is easier to place on the glass without getting to many bubbles.

Now that the lettering has been transferred unto the glass, use the glass etch and spread it on thick!  Leave it on for 20 minutes and apply another coat right on top of that to insure that it is not streaky and that the etching comes out.

Then wash off the glass etch paste and peel of the sticker.  I forgot to take a picture of the final project of the Dillon glasses as I was pressed for time but here is a Reed shamrock glass I did awhile back.

That is Glass Etching 101!  enjoy.
